BEIRUT, 5th May 2016 (WAM) - The Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) today distributed relief supplies to 1,400 Syrian and Palestinian families in the Lebanese city of Irsal, on the borders with Syria, as part of the Emirati Winter Relief Campaign for Syrian Refugees in 2016.
Mussalam Al Mansouri, Director of the Humanitarian and Developmental Assistance Attache at the UAE Embassy in Beirut, said the UAE was continuing its efforts to support the needy and alleviate the suffering of displaced Syrians, as well as affected Lebanese and Palestinians.
The relief supplies included clothing and blankets, and were distributed to 980 Syrian families, 280 Lebanese families and 140 Palestinian families.
Officials noted that this distribution brings to 4,975 the total number of families that have benefited from the ERC campaign since its launch.
