AL QUDS, 29th June, 2015 (WAM) -- The Emirati Charity Works Authority office in Palestine has launched the Zayed Humanitarian Work Day, which includes establishing Ramadan banquets in Al-Aqsa Mosque and the distribution of thousands of Iftar and Suhoor meals, commemorating the death of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, which coincides with the nineteenth day of the Holy Month of Ramadan.
The day also saw the implementation of the UAE Suqia Water Aid campaign, as well as the honouring of around 3,000 orphans. Ibrahim Rashid, Director of the Human Appeal International Office in the West Bank, said that the in memory of the late Sheikh Zayed, the authority provided 10,000 Iftar meals to worshipers at Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Rashid added that the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan had a generous heart for all, and his humanitarian work extended far beyond the UAE borders to reach all corners of the globe, whether through building a school, mosque, hospital or residential city, or feeding the hungry.
